Lecture note
In the first lecture, we start from understanding what is a brand. From my understanding, brand describe our company our your product. We need to know well about our target audience and how do we want to be see. Brand voice equal to brand language. We also talk about Edward Bernays, propaganda.
Next, we are given brief about the module guideline and understanding the task we need to do. We are required to post our works as blogs on blogger. For task 1, we need to do a brand breakdown. To start task 1, we need to first doing research for the brand chosen and then list out the important point of the brand.

Branding is about the emotions. Brand need to connects customers on an emotions level so the brand presence will grows. We need to know what people need. Needs are complex because needs keep changing nowadays. The only thing we can do is predict and do survey on what our customers need now and what for the future. Of cause, there are potential customer base who will present and engage.
A brand need a good design to stand out? Good design doesn't mean to be a wining award design because it do not help in the marketing part. Every brand have their brand message. Brand essage communicate and bring out the brand value. Once the brand message convey correctly, customers won't get confuse. Clarity and being coinscience is important.
Customers will expect from brand so the expectation needs to be realistic. Brand promise is important for customer trust. We need to define customer trust and so customer will define our brand. We need to listen to the customer after they define us and then we convert it.

In this week, we discuss about branding ourselves. It's alright to be specific at first. We should roll ourselves to look attractive so that people would think to buy us, buy our idea.
As the saying goes, less is more. We can't sell ourselves out by few field like education, photographer or designer. It will be a bad branding of ourselves as people can't remember so many. So, we should focus on only one field which are ruthless. We should focus on what we want to do and who we talk to.
We need to make ourselves an identity. We should make a pitch to introduce ourselves through our brand.

This week, we are given a brief about task 2- Logo design. There are many types of logo design and there are things that we should aware of. Signature, trademarks, service marks, logo- logotype, monogram and many more.
We are required to to do research on 2 particular competitors of their brand positioning. Mind-mapping out the ideas first. We should design something which can represent the nature from the logo as logo communicates.

In this lecture, we talk about an article "How to use a nature logo pattern- Effective logo design part 2". Johanes IItten, the founder of Bauhaus school.

In this class, we continue on our logo design development. We need to collect all the ideas and processes in a mind map then only develop into graphic. Every time we have new idea, we should go back to the mind map and then develop it in a new paper.
We are required to digitise the logo design into 3 art boards in black and white form.

Brief of task 3 - Radio ad. For this assignment, we are required to create a radio scripts and make it into a 30 seconds radio advertisement. Based on the previous task's brand, Nom Nom Food Delivery.
During this lecture, we talked about Typography. Typography can be in many form. Typography is very important in designing. We need to consider and experiment on choosing a typeface to put in your design. The color of the typeface might effect the overall design too so we should choose them wisely. Besides, the point size of our font will effect in readable or not.

In this lecture class, we discuss about Grid System. In every design, we will realize the differences between the grid. Based on the hierarchy. Grid System include text field, the margin space, images and etc. Depending on how we arrange our grid and turn out a good design or not.
